What follow is entirely the fault of Tandy, Hila and Colleen. Though, to be fair, all Colleen did was organise everything else. Tandy and Hila should shoulder most of the blame!

You see, since last year, Colleen has been running around organising South Africa’s very own version of a Food Blogger’s Conference. It sounded exciting and I promised myself that if it wasn’t too expensive etc. etc. etc. I might think about going. So I was a little dismayed when the dates were announced and I discovered that it was the weekend before I had exams to write. Aw crap. So I more or less wrote it off.

And then Hila started. “It’s just one day.” She said. Innocently.

“Yes” I said, “but once you’ve factored in flights, and accomodation and car hire it’s a very expensive day!“

Tandy then jumped on the bandwagon and pointed out that someone in CT would be able to host! Surely?

After that I was more or less powerless. Hila offer to fetch and carry and host me; and so it was left up to me to book a spot; book flights and fight down the urge to panic just a little at such a spur of the moment decision!!

So there you have it. I’m going to FBI2011! I suppose I’d better live up to being a food blogger between now and then right?
