As the northern hemisphere skips gleefully into the longer days and warmer weather of spring, so we spiral slowly into autumn. Like the changing leaves, eventually drifting down from the tree to land on a  pile of fallen comrades.  I don’t really enjoy winter. I don’t like the short days and the cold. I’ve cuddled up in my blue fluffy dressing down more than once morning in the last week, and  find myself kicking off my work shoes and reaching for my slippers rather than go barefoot in the evenings. Dinner plans tend more towards soup and stews than salads and sandwiches. That, coupled with the pull of that magical pool of sunshine on my bed, as opposed to the dark cool of the study, lets me know that the seasons are changing. Winter is on the way.

I had a very productive weekend. I managed to finish one of the two assignments I have to finish before 09/04. I’ve sent it to John for proof reading. I can’t proof my own stuff. My eyes skip straight over the mistakes. However, John and I have totally different writing styles and we often, um, disagree on the best way to phrase something. Still, it’s done and that’s the hardest part. I made a start on the second economic’s assignment this morning. I’m hoping it’s going to be much easier because the Professor has set out, explicitly, what he wants from us. There’s a framework to work with; much easier!

I didn’t do much else this weekend other than set up my new iPhone (the last one went swimming) and pottered around at home. We had dinner with John’s folks last night; which was lovely. John & his Dad watched the rugby (there was much yelling at the TV). A good way to end the weekend.

This week I will be busy with assignment stuff; but I will be taking a break on Tuesday night to go to the Botany Dept’s prawn evening. Yummy! Hopefully some of the other ladies can join us!

What are you all up to this week?
