We had a lovely weekend. One that felt longer than it actually was.
On Friday night we headed down to Port Alfred with two friends for a braai and some fishing under the bridge. I tagged along with the boys and did crochet by headlamp *. That I had to undo it all later is neither here nor there! We met up with another friend and, seeing as the fishing was crap, we headed home for whiskey and telling stories on the couch. Got to bed at 1am.
Saturday morning we had a slow start; bacon and eggs for breakfast and then off to the Mall to buy John some work shirts. He’s been a students since forever and 99% of his clothes are t-shirts he got as freebies and shorts! So he was in need of some smarted shirts. We wandered around, picked out some clothes, picked up some Easter eggs (in January?! WTF?) and then headed home.
Saturday afternoon was spent crocheting & napping (me) and visiting/ collecting/ dropping off fishing gear (John). Later we headed to the Rat for dinner (mmm, pizza!) and an early night.
Sunday was another slow start. I did our meal plan and grocery list in my pjs and John made me pancakes for breakfast. Groceries done, we headed to Checkers to get some wine and beers before heading to watch football and braai. Man I LOVE not having to work over the weekends! It’s spectacular!
*PS I’m on Ravelry here!
That sounds like a great weekend! I am wondering what a braais is, though.
Debbie, a braai (rhymes with fry) is what South African’s call a BBQ :)
i think no good weekend is complete without pizza!
